Mister Judy began as a collaboration of two sisters who were raised on a Northern Idaho wheat farm in the beautiful Palouse country. Lori, a Portland, Oregon apparel designer for adidas and Hanna Andersson, and Wendy, an engineer for Hewlett Packard in Boise, Idaho, both had a desire to stay home with their young children. Pooling their talents and ideas, the Mister Judy company was born.
Mister Judy's designs are a modern and hip interpretation of classic styles and are fun and sophisticated at the same time. All of our garments are currently, and will continue to be, manufactured in the United States. Our leftover fabrics from the cutting room are transformed into beautiful accessories virtually eliminating waste. In fact, our one-of-a-kind quilts ensure that we use even the smallest scraps of remaining fabric.
The original Mister Judy was a dog given to our grandmother by an elderly gentleman who could no longer care for him. The dog, a male, was named Judy. This did not sit well with Grandma who liked everything in order, so she changed his name to Mister Judy. Mister Judy lived in a magnificent doghouse with a "reading" light and a window, and even raised a foster litter of three kittens. We have always loved hearing the story of Mister Judy and Grandma and their friendship. So in honor of Mister Judy, we have named our company after him.
Please see the complete Mister Judy Story if you would like to know more about the original Mister Judy.
